The Best Way to Tour San Francisco Over the 4th of July Weekend – By Bike!

Now that the June Gloom is behind us and the 4th of July weekend is approaching quickly, it’s time to really kick off summer! If you’re a local with a long weekend ahead of you or a visitor here in San Francisco for the holiday, the absolutely best way to get around this weekend is by bicycle.

For visitors to San Francisco, the best way to see the city is to take one of our guided tours this weekend. We offer two daily guided tours that start in Fisherman’s Wharf at our 2715 Hyde Street location, 10am and 1pm. Our fun and knowledgeable tour guides will lead you through the Presidio along the waterfront, over the Golden Gate Bridge and then into sunny Sausalito. Along the way you will stop and hear about the city’s rich history and take advantage of the many fantastic photo ops.  Get ready for the Selfie of a Lifetime! Plus, on Friday, July 4th there are events happening all day long in Sausalito – including a parade, live music and BBQs. You can lock up your bike and take advantage of everything this funky little town has to offer for the 4th.

For locals looking to take advantage of all the fun activities this weekend, but not looking forward to traffic and parking hassles, renting one of our bikes is the way to go! Between the Fillmore Street Jazz Festival to the most amazing fireworks show in the country, this weekend has lots of great things in store. Plus, the 70 degree weather will make it possible to enjoy all of these things without your winter coat on. Just pop into one of our locations and show us some patriotic spirit and we’ll get you hooked up with our locals-only discount of $5 off!

Looking for an insider’s edge to the best viewing spot for the fireworks on Friday? How about Angel Island? Grab one of our bikes, hop on a Blue & Gold Fleet ferry and head over to the ugly stepchild island (Alcatraz always gets so much attention!). With unobstructed views and loads of car-free roads to pedal on, this could just be your best 4th of July yet. Pack a picnic and some booze and a blanket and you’re set. We have a late-night return area so you can bring your bike back anytime!

Remember – no reservations are ever necessary, so come on down to either our 2715 Hyde Street location at Fisherman’s Wharf for the best start to your Golden Gate Bridge ride, or our downtown location at 433 Mason Street for a great route through our beautiful city’s bike-friendly streets!
